Services are provided at the churches
Shelter
Shelter is provided 24 hours a day. The families recieve their evening meal and stay at the host church overnight. Volunteers from the host congregation spend the night with the families until morning.. The families are dropped off by a volunteer driver from the host church to the Second Circle family day center.
Meals
An evening meal is served family-style by the host congregation volunteers who join the families for the meal.
Hospitality
Interfaith Hospitality Network Second Circle offers more than just shelter. By definition hospitality means to "offer a pleasant and sustaing environment". Our volunteers are the essential provider of this component of IHN's Second Circle services. A network of guests form long lasting relationships and friendships with our volunteers. As a direct result of our volunteers' example, many former guests have returned as Network Volunteers. The volunteers most valuable contribution is the companionship and the acceptance they offer when guest families need it most. By talking and listening, along with treating guests with respect, volunteers can offer hope and enable families to maintain dignity and regain independence.
